Tonya Is Better

Today the doctor came in and said his test confirmed that Tonya's MRSA is active again. He said this goes along with the result that was faxed to him from the urologist in B"ham. He said he doesn't know why we were told the result was normal when both tests clearly reveal that Staph is active. He said she will be in the hospital until at least Monday or Tuesday. She is feeling some better and I know this because she is talking alot more. LOL.

Until Monday, Brian

Tonya Update

Well, here it is day three. The doctor came in this morning and said he had the original 24 hour report that the urologist in B'ham did on Monday. He said, " I don't know how they could say this culture is normal because it clearly shows STAPH". She is now being treated for MRSA which is active again. I think once this is knocked down she will be better. They have changed her antibiotic and are waiting on another culture to come back that was done on Tuesday. The doctor said he is going to run his own tests to see what is happening.

I don't know how much longer Tonya will be in the hospital, but it will probably be at least 5 or 6 more days, maybe longer. Her number is 256-235-8319 if anyone would like to call her.

Until I know something else, Brian.

Five Finger Prayer

Five Finger Prayer

1. Your thumb Is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger i s the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4.. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - The smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you,' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Prayer Request

Everett Horton, son of Glenn and Kelly Horton, was born early and it sounds like has many complications. Glenn Horton is a realtor in Fort Payne.

Everett had a seizure, which is one of the side effects of bacterial meningitis / Group B strep. They will follow up with a Neurologist after he leaves the hospital. He has had many small strokes on both sides of his brain.

He is doing all the little things that newborns do and there is a possibility that the other parts of the brain could take over these affected places and he will be a normal child. There is a chance that he could grow up with no problems at all.

Please pray for this baby and for his parents.

Tonya Back in Stringfellow

Well, I suppose you all know what it means when I send everyone an email like this. Tonya began vomiting over the weekend and couldn't keep anything on her stomach. I called her medical doctor today because her temp went up to 102. He told us to go to the hospital. Tonya is now in Stringfellow, room 319. her number is 256-235-8319. I'm guessing she has yet another kidney infection, however, we won't know for a few days. I will let you know when something new happens. Brian

Prayer Request

Bobbie Jones' nephew Cary Weaver, 18 years old, was in an accident. He tried to avoid hitting a deer and rolled his jeep four times. He is paralized and they are calling a specialist in.
Please pray for him and his family. His mother Arlene is taking her nursing finals, please remember her as she tries to deal with that also.
