Thought for Today

It is unlikely that we will deepen our relationship with God in a casual or haphazard manner. There will be a need for some intentional commitment and some reorganization in our own lives. But there is nothing that will enrich our lives more than a deeper and clearer perception of God's presence in the routine of daily living.

National Day of Prayer

As we gathered on the steps of Town Hall today we received disturbing news that a church has been vandalized.
La Casa del Pueblo de Dios (The House of the People of God), the United Methodist Hispanic Ministry in Decatur was spray painted in an obvious action of hatred. The pastor of this church is the wife of Rev. Gene Lankford - First United Methodist Church, Collinsville.

On this National Day of Prayer, as we pray for Our County, Our State, Our World, Our Nation, and Our Town, please pray for this church and its ministry, but also pray for those who commited this terrible act. They desperately need the love of Jesus in their lives.

Christian Fellowship

When a Christian shuns fellowship with other Christians, the devil smiles. When he stops studying the Bible, the devil laughs. When he stops praying, the devil shouts for joy.
