Latest on Tonya
The doctor came in this morning and said maybe she would get to go home on Tuesday. We would have to see how things go. Since the port was put in on Friday there hasn't been any problems so far. We have been told that from now on we will have to flush the port with heparin everyday to keep it from clotting off. I don't know if insurance is going to pay for the heparin or the needles but I think they might. I just hope the port doesn't get infected where it exits the skin. As long as that doesn't happen we will be good to go with the port. If not then removal of it is the only option to get rid of the infection. We do not want this to happen so pray very hard that no infection develops with the port. Thats all for now except that Tonya has misplaced her cell phone so the only way to contact her right now is to call the hospital room at 256-235-8333.
I will let you know if she gets to come home tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed. And your toes.
